Description
With the renewal of the infrastructure in 2022, a resolute choice was made to convert the animal stock to an occupation with Living Heritage breeds with extra attention for the breeds from the province of Antwerp and the Kempen. In this way, both the general public and the students of the Animal Care department want to become acquainted with Living Heritage. The teachers and students of KOGEKA are responsible for the care of the animals and in this way come into contact with the issues surrounding the preservation of these breeds.
Opening hours
The animal zone is accessible throughout the year from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and during the summer months from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is easily accessible, located in the middle of the city center, freely accessible to everyone, the site already serves as a meeting place.
Class visits: kindergarten classes and classes of the 1st and 2nd year of study can schedule a visit themselves, an educational package is provided for this. Classes of the 3rd and 4th academic year can request a guided visit in the spring.
