Description
We started collecting old and rare varieties more actively in 2015. Soon after, in 2016, we founded the Seed Bank , which we opened to the public in 2017 through the Seed Library . Soon, everyone could borrow seeds from the Library , and after multiplying, some of them could be left for their family, while some had to be returned to the Library .
Since not all members and households of the Library were able to grow and return quality seeds with good germination, just few of them returned seeds. In 2018, the first lovely growers of our seeds stood out. In 2019, together with a couple of these households that stood out above all with their knowledge and practices in the field of natural and traditional methods of cultivation, we set out to build Our Seed.
The goal of all of us growers is to have an abundance of healthy and nutritionally rich food in the plates of our loved ones, which is practically only possible by growing heirloom varieties. We want to give our small contribution to the preservation of our and the world's old varieties by providing access to others in need of such a seed.
What especially connects our households is the strong will to raise our children on our estates and within our families, passing on to them traditional knowledge and natural breeding practices, as well as healthy and diverse diet. We are honored that we can be connection to all of you who strive to share happiness and health with your loved ones in sowing and growing our great heirloom varieties.
With love,
Seed Keepers from the households Janjetović, Šešić, Tripić, Savičić, Lazendić, Gaćanović, Vukota, Maglov and Kopu
