History: The Bavarian Landgans was bred in Franconia, the Upper Palatinate, Lower Bavaria and Swabia and is the generic term for the local Landgansschläge. It is closely descended from the greylag goose. There are different lines and embezzlements which were combined to the Bavarian Shetland Goose because of their small population. The Franconian Shelduck is the blue colour of the Bavarian Shelduck, which is recognised by the Association of German Poultry Breeders.
