Description
CRA-ZOE is a Research unit consisting of two research farms, one in Basilicata Region (Goat farm), the other in Puglia Region (Sheep farm). Founded at the beginning of XX century, they were vocated to the technical training, improving and diffusion of high quality animals and research in animal production, milk and cheese quality. The goat research farm is located in two sites, hill and mountain environment respectively. In the hill location there are: a didactic, a training centre for residential courses, meeting room with simultaneous translation utilities and a laboratory equipped with HPLC, Gas Chromatography Mass, gas capillary Chromatography, electronic nose, and all instruments for routine analyses on forage, milk and cheese quality. Moreover, a lab for sensory analysis is equipped for cheese evaluation. The sheep farm consists of: a dairy, a laboratory equipped for milk and cheese analysis, and large lowland pastures.
